Skillsgapp: COPPA Direct Notice to Parents

This is a Direct Notice to Parents (“Notice”) under the Children’s Online Privacy and Protection Act (“ COPPA”) as a result of your child’s use of skillsgapp llc’s (“Company,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) computer game BeatNic Boulevard (the “Game”). If your child is 13 or older, as part of your child’s use of the Game, we may collect certain information to provide your child with access to certain features of the Game, respond to requests or other communications from your child, and/or to improve the Game and associated features. Under COPPA,  if your child is under 13 , parental consent is required for the collection, use, and or disclosure of your child’s personal information, unless the request for information falls within an exception that would be permitted under COPPA. We have collected your email contact information from your child. We are only using your contact information for the purpose of contacting you in this regard.

If your child is under 13, we are not retaining any personal information from your child other than their email address for password retrieval only.

If your child is 13 or over, we may collect the following information from your child:

  • Username
  • Email Address
  • In-Game Activity and Information
  • IP address and other persistent online identifiers
  • School Grade
  • Birthday 
  • Zip Code (optional) 

For children 13 or over, we may share personal information in the following instances:

  • For external processing – We provide personal information to our affiliates, service providers, or other trusted businesses or persons to process it for us, for a business purpose,  and  based on our instructions and in compliance with our Privacy Policy and any other appropriate confidentiality and security measures.
  • For legal reasons – We will share personal information with companies, outside organizations or individuals if we have a good-faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of the information is reasonably necessary to meet any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request, detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues or protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of our users or the public as required or permitted by law.
  • In case of a sale or asset transfer – If we become involved in a merger, acquisition or other transaction involving the sale of some or all of our assets, user information, including personal information collected from you through your use of our Services, could be included in the transferred assets. Should such an event occur, we will use reasonable means to notify you.
  • With third-party analytics for the purpose of providing analytics to improve our Services.
  • With your educational institution, school boards, governing bodies, and universities for research and investment evaluation.

Because we do not transfer any of your child’s personal information to any third parties for any use aside from maintaining the internal operation of the Game or otherwise allow for your child’s personal information to be shared publicly, we use the “Notification” method to those with children under 13.
